Terms and Conditions
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Bill Merger ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
If you create an account, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms.
2. What the Service Does
Bill Merger is a tool designed to assist users in splitting and managing household expenses. The Service uses AI-powered parsing to extract data from bills and generate invoices based on user input.
The Service is provided as a convenience tool. It is not a bank, payment processor, accounting firm, or debt collection service.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.
4. Your Inputs and Content
When you use the Service, you may provide content such as bill emails, attachments, descriptions, amounts, and member information. You represent that you have the right to provide that content and that doing so does not violate any law or third-party rights.
You are responsible for the content you submit and for ensuring it is appropriate to share with your household members.
5. Automated Parsing, Accuracy, and Verification
Invoices, calculations, and itemized bill data generated by the Service are provided for convenience and informational purposes.
- The Service uses automated extraction (including AI) to read bills, emails, and attachments. Automated parsing can be incorrect.
- Parsed items may include mistakes (for example, misread amounts, dates, descriptions, currencies, or missing/extra line items).
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any invoice or calculation produced by the Service.
- You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of all data, amounts, and splits before sending or paying any invoice.
- Do not rely solely on the Service for the payment of legal, contractual, or financial obligations.
- The Service is not a substitute for professional financial or accounting advice.
6. Invoices and Payments
The Service may help you generate and send invoices to household members. You control what gets sent and when. Any payment arrangements are between you and your household members.
You are responsible for confirming the correctness of invoices and ensuring they reflect your real-world agreements.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service. For example, you will not:
- Use the Service for unlawful, deceptive, or abusive activities.
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Service, security features, or access controls.
- Upload malware or attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems.

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bill Merger and its operators will not be liable for any damages arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service. This includes, but is not limited to:
